What do we Offer?

Forest of Dean Wildlife Tours is a guided tour company, based in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The forest covers an area of approx 42 sq miles, and features an incredible variety of habitat types. Here in the forest we have a wealth of SSSIs (Site of Special Scientific Interest), as well as numerous nature reserves. The RSPB have their Nagshead reserve here and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust have a reserve in the centre of the forest at Crabtree Hill and Woorgreens Lake.

With such a high concentration of amazingly diverse habitats in the forest, it’s hardly surprising that you can find a huge number of different bird, mammal, plant and invertebrate species here.

Our aim is to help you see the best the forest has to offer, to help you enjoy the wildlife and to encourage understanding of how important these wildlife populations are. If you’re still new to wildlife watching then we can identify species for you and you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you like!

Our tours take in fantastically diverse areas of the forest, with the aim of showing you the wealth of wildlife here. We include the use of a spotting scope to help identify more wary species from a respectful distance to avoid disturbance . We also have a range of reference books to help identify different bird and invertebrate species.
